What’s the Buzz?: Applications Open for NL Honey Bee Program

The province is accepting applications for its Honey Bee Program.

$300,000 is available for training and support, allowing eligible beekeepers to purchase local honeybees and apiary supplies, pest and disease monitoring tools, support for overwintering, and equipment to develop honey and other processed food products.

Applicants can apply for up to a maximum of $20,000 and must have 10 or more colonies registered with the provincial apiarist, and a valid beekeeper registration number for the 2020 season.

The deadline for applications is November 1.
