BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, in partnership with 18 independent and locally-operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies throughout the country and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, has announced a partnership with nonprofit generic drug company, Civica RX.  This $55 million partnership creates a subsidiary dedicated to lowering the cost of select generic drugs.  The first of these generic medications will become available by 2022.

Starbucks is making a move on Transit Road in Amherst.  According to Business First, Starbucks will leave its outparcel site on the north side of Maple Road to a new building located on the south side of that road.  HSBC will share space in the new building with Starbucks.  The soon to be vacated outparcel will be filled by a Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill.

Waterbourne Construction Advisors, LLC has begun the renovation of the plaza at 402 Center Street in Lewiston.  The plaza will house it’s new owner Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen and other retail tenants.  The work is expected to be completed by early summer of this year.

Dr Sanjay Gupta, Chief Medical Officer for BryLin Behavioral Health System, has been named the 2019 Physician of the Year by the Asian American Physician Association.
