Trustee endorses Wall for county education board – Santa Cruz Sentinel
After eight years on the Santa Cruz County Office of Education board, I am stepping down. I am very pleased that Alyssa Wall filed to run. She grew up in San Jose, fell in love with Santa Cruz from her summer vacations at the beach, and moved to La Selva Beach.
Alyssa majored in education, received a master’s and is currently in a doctoral program in educational policy. With her wealth of knowledge, she is prepared to represent us and to contribute immediately. Alyssa is the only candidate who has met with the County Superintendent and attended both monthly COE board meetings since filing to run.
Alyssa will focus on the responsibilities of a board member to oversee finances, lead in alternative education programs, and provide assistance to the 10 school districts and 40,000 students they serve. She has my full endorsement.
— Jane Royer Barr, Trustee, Santa Cruz County Office of Education
The Sentinel welcomes your letters to the editor. Letters should be short, no more than 150 words. We do not accept anonymous letters. Letter-writers should include their full name as well as a street address and telephone number. We don’t publish those details in the newspaper, but need the information for verification purposes. Occasionally, we reject letters simply because we’ve had so many on the same subject. Submit your letters online at www.santacruzsentinel.com/submit-letters.
