Lake’s Newest Collection Was Designed For Working From Home And Traveling With Ease

The newest collection from Lake – the pajama and lounge wear brand co-founded by longtime friends Anne Read Lattimore and Cassandra Cannon – couldn’t have launched at a more welcome time. Inspired by the South’s lowcountry, the latest pieces conjure up the region’s distinctive and dreamy beauty this time of year. “Our spring palette features our signature blues, lush greens, and pale pink,” says Cannon. “The fresh palette is very reflective of Savannah’s natural hues — from the back river, to the mossy oaks, to the lavish azaleas — that make the lowcountry so beautiful.”

And since so many of us are working from home now (especially in these troubled times), it’s never been more important to feel comfortable – but feel good about what we’re wearing, too. And why? “Clothing has this ability to make us feel like a better version of ourselves, and pajamas are no exception,” says Lattimore. “We are all adjusting to new routines these days, and it can be uplifting to wear clothes that make you feel more put together – even if you are staying home all day.”

While Lake has focused on pajamas and lounge wear in the past, the lowcountry collection introduces three chic everyday basics: two long-sleeved Breton striped tee dresses, and navy high-waisted shorts. (The pieces will be available online for purchase starting April 20.) As for why Lattimore and Cannon decided to release them? Lattimore explains, “In a casual city like Savannah, we’re always reaching for our elevated basics. We found a need for effortless, breezy pieces that will work with what we already have in our closets – and will become staples, as well.”

Below, Lattimore shares her five favorite pieces from Lake’s new lowcountry collection, along with some style inspiration for each.

Pima Weekend Shorts Set in Lily, $84

“This is a new silhouette for us, in our signature super-soft Pima cotton. The pale pink hue feels special and fresh, and is ideal for slow mornings and afternoon lounging.”

French Blue Breton Dress, $148 (available April 20)

We’re big fans of Breton stripes. Our French Blue Breton Dress is springy, with a comfortable but flattering silhouette. It’s equally perfect for hanging out at home, and walking around the farmer’s market.”

Navy High-Waisted Shorts, $118 (available April 20)

“The High-Waisted shorts are flattering, easy to wear, and such a fun addition to any wardrobe. Throw them on with a white tee or sweater, and they’ll quickly become a staple.”

Navy Dot Modal Pants Set, $114

“This adorable set features a ribbon accent and is luxuriously soft. It’s a perfect fabric for slow and leisurely spring mornings.”

The Boxer Short, $48

“This is our first separate, and is made from a super-soft poplin cotton. They’re a feminine take on the traditional men’s style, and will be a go-to for lounging all day long.”
