The Family Learning Center in Boulder has started its summer youth food program to offer meals for families and children in need.

Each family in the program receives food for breakfast and lunch for five days as well as a King Soopers gift card to buy perishable food items, according to a release.

The center’s goal is to serve at least 100 school-age children for eight weeks during the summer.

Families must pre-register to schedule an appointment with program director Ramona Thomas at 303-442-8979. Only one family is allowed in to the center, 3164 34th St., at a time to keep with COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The Denver Foundation Donor Advised Fund, Colorado Blue Print to end Kid Hunger and the Boulder Community Foundation support the Family Learning Center’s effort.
