Mingo Woman’s Club meeting

includes fundraiser updates

MINGO JUNCTION — The GFWC Woman’s Club of Mingo held its September meeting at Bay Six on Commercial Street in Mingo with President Sharon Cole-Isner presiding. The executive board meeting preceded the regular meeting.

Roetta Lewis gave the blessing and led in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. The club collect followed.

Following refreshments, monthly reports were given by Roetta Lewis, Cole-Isner and Mary Jane Tiberio. A thank-you was received from Urban Mission for the club’s donation to the bunk bed project.

The club will be having a drawing for a lottery tree wreath which Tiberio will design. Tickets were handed out to members. The drawing will be conducted at the Christmas party.

It was announced that the Gold Star Mother Pilgrimage had been canceled.

Members will be selling RADA cutlery through Dec. 1. The proceeds will benefit the Christmas Kids project the club does annually. Stephanie Rouse is in charge of the fundraiser.

Joanne Gorney will again serve as chairman of the Sees Candy fundraiser. Orders are due the Monday following Thanksgiving.

Members are asked to bring used greeting cards for St. Jude to the next meeting.

Rouse, meeting hostess, gave a tour of the Bay Six building.

Attendees wore attire reflective of their favorite sports team.

Lewis will be the hostess for the next meeting which will be held at Bay Six. Meetings will be held at Bay Six until the end of the year. Shelly Bateman will be doing a craft at the next meeting.

Members were asked to wear masks, and social distancing was observed.

‘Life: A Time of…’ theme of

annual fall gospel meeting

WEIRTON — “Life: A Time of….” will be the theme of the annual fall gospel meeting of Weirton Heights Church of Christ, located at 3169 Pennsylvania Ave.

It will be held Oct. 11-16 and feature Evangelist John Board from Elizabethtown, Ky. Lessons will be held Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Weeknights, worship begins at 7 p.m.

“You can also live stream with us on the Weirton Heights Church of Christ Youtube channel,” a news release notes. The topics are:

Oct. 11: 9:30 a.m., “Life: A Time to be Guided;” 10:30 a.m., “Life: A Time of Decision;” and 6:30 p.m., “Life: A Time of Brevity.”

Oct. 12: 7 p.m., “Life: A Time of Learning.”

Oct. 13: 7 p.m., “Life: A Time of Preparation.”

Oct. 14: 7 p.m., “Life: A Time of Serving and Working.”

Oct. 15: 7 p.m., “Life: A Time of Anticipation.”

Oct. 16: 7 p.m., “Life: A Time of Ending.”
